How Do You determine if Your Pluvicto Therapy is Working
PSA is a marker for prostate cancer and is often used as a surrogate marker of response in patients who are undergoing Pluvicto therapy or Lutetium PSMA therapy So in a best responding patient the PSA level should have at the end of about 6 weeks from the first therapy so if the patient starts with a value x then at the end of about 6 weeks post therapy that value should be half of x now this is a is a is just one aspect of it there are many patients who show a delayed drop in PSA and just because your PSA has not halved it should not be a reason to dump Pluvicto therapy The response of Pluvicto therapy is monitored one by PSA levels 2 by clinical response and 3 by scans There are also patients who have a low PSA secreting and in such patients the PSA level is not an indicator of the extent of their disease and cannot actually give you a value of you know response or not response based on the PSA levels So if a person's PSA doubles from where we started you know from baseline that is the time when we have to be a little wary that the pluvicto therapy or the lutetium PSMA therapy is not working.
