Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to help you understand the PET CT Second Opinion process.

Who will read my PET CT scan?
Your PET CT scan is reviewed by Dr. Ishita B. Sen and Dr. Dharmender Malik, both senior consultant nuclear medicine physicians. They consult at Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram, and operate TPPL as an independent diagnostic-only practice. Both have extensive experience in PET CT interpretation, PSMA and DOTATATE imaging, and theranostics
What makes TPPL's second-read service different from a hospital second opinion?
TPPL earns revenue only from diagnostic interpretation — never from treatment. That is a deliberate structural choice. When a patient visits Dr. Sen or Dr. Malik at Fortis Memorial Research Institute for a second read, the billing is through the hospital, and any resulting treatment is billed by the hospital. TPPL, operated by the same doctors as an independent venture, has no treatment revenue stream at all. That structural independence means a TPPL second opinion cannot be commercially influenced by whether treatment follows.
How long does a second read take?
TPPL delivers a comprehensive, digitally signed second-read report within 72 hours of receiving the complete scan and clinical information.
What do I need to submit my PET CT scan?
You need a DICOM link for your PET CT study (most imaging centres issue one on request), the original imaging report, any relevant prior scans, a histopathology report if available, and a brief clinical summary. Submission is through our secure online form.
Can TPPL help a patient who lives outside India?
Yes. The Second Read Service accepts submissions from any country, entirely online. The second-read report is issued as an independent expert opinion in a format used by major oncology centres internationally, intended to be shared with the patient's treating physicians locally.
Is the second-read report usable by my treating oncologist?
Yes. The report is a formal structured interpretation, digitally signed, in the same format used by major oncology centres. It is designed to be shared with the patient's treating oncologist, surgeon, or referring physician.
What does the second read cost?
Fees are confirmed in writing on enquiry, with separate pricing available for international patients. Submit your details through the enquiry form and our team will respond with a fee confirmation before any scan is reviewed.
Is my scan and clinical data kept confidential?
Yes. All patient data is handled in accordance with medical confidentiality standards. Scans are reviewed only by the TPPL clinical team. Patient identifiers are not shared externally, and the second-read report is released only to the patient or to a physician explicitly authorised by the patient.
