So, patients, ask me when to do TARE and when to do TACE, so the basic premises TARE is better, tolerated, and is better for bigger tumors. So, if the tumour is small, the patient’s liver function are preserved and the patient does not have tumors in both lobes of the liver. A TACE treatment is better.
But if a patient has a large tumor or has tumors in both sides, both lobes of the liver, nad there is evidence of portal rain thrombosis or if the liver functions are not up to the mark or if they are in some ways compromised, then TARE is a much better alternative than TACE.
